SIBU: Traders have been warned against conducting business in parking lots and on the five-foot way.
Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) deputy chairman Mohammed Abdullah Izkandar Roseley said that such activities were not only illegal but also caused difficulties for others.
“Trading in vehicle parking lots and beyond the five-foot way is illegal. This will cause further congestion, especially for motorcyclists unable to park their vehicles at designated locations,” he said in a Facebook post today (April 15).
Izkandar also shared several photos of traders committing the offense around shop lots near the Sibu Central Market.
Additionally, the photos showed SMC enforcement officers conducting inspections and issuing warnings to the traders.
