KABONG: “I am willing to work overtime to ensure that the plumbing work by the contractor proceeds smoothly,” said Kabong assemblyman Mohd Chee Kadir.

Upon completing his tarawih prayers, Mohd Chee rushed to the location where the pipeline connection works of Kabong Water Supply Plant to Kampung Sungai Endot was being carried out.

“I would like to see the pipeline work connecting Kampung Sungai Endot resolved as soon as possible to ensure that there will be no water disruption in the village during the upcoming festivities,” he said.

He added that the steps to overcome the problem were being worked on by the Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) and hoped that the villagers would be patient.

Previously, Kabong was faced with water disruption which was highlighted and following that, a special dialogue was held by the JBALB at the Kabong District Office on May 15.

At the dialogue, JBALB put forward an idea of installing a special pipeline from the storage tank at Kabong’s old plant to Kampung Endot.

With the installation of the new pipeline, the water can then be supplied directly to Kampung Sungai Endot.

“JBALB has issued a tender for that purpose and the contractor has been identified. The construction work will continue to be implemented and is expected to be completed within a month.

“Today, JBALB has fulfilled its pledge by connecting the pipeline from Kabong Water Supply Plant to Kampung Sungai Endot,” said Mohd Chee.
