SIBU: There is no need for former Covid-19 patients here to get a letter of permission to go to work from the Sibu Divisional Health Office and to undergo a Covid-19 examination.

This was confirmed by Sibu health officer Dr Teh Jo Hun in a media statement on Monday (March 15).

“According to the Ministry of Health (MOH) director general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, the positive test results for Covid-19 patients who have recovered are due to viruses or virus fragments that have died.

“In this case, former Covid-19 patients will not infect others after receiving treatment or after 14 days,” Dr Teh said.

He also urged all private sector employers to let their employees who were former Covid-19 patients return to work as usual and to observe the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the government to curb the spread of Covid-19.
