KUCHING: No new positive Covid-19 case was recorded in the state on Monday (June 29).
According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the total number of Covid-19 cases statewide remained at 571 since the last case was detected last Sunday (June 28) in Sibu.
SDMC said the total number of discharged patients also remained at 537 or 94.05 percent after no Covid-19 patient were discharged from hospitals statewide.
“There are 20 new person under investigation (PUI) cases and one is currently awaiting laboratory test result,” it said in a statement.
It added that as of Monday (June 29), 17 Covid-19 patients were receiving treatments in hospitals throughout Sarawak while the total number of deaths remained unchanged at 17.
It said another 60 persons under surveillance (PUS) checked into various hotels throughout Sarawak for their mandatory14-day quarantine.
This brings the number of quarantined PUS to 928 in 13 hotels statewide.
SDMC also stated that the surveillance team of 700 personnel inspected 2,080 locations including 329 supermarkets, 425 restaurants, 21 factories, 192 banks, 60 government offices, 22 hawker centres, 135 markets, 103 places of worship, 51 recreational areas, 26 construction sites and others (716).
It said six roadblocks were conducted in five districts throughout the state as part of Ops Benteng.
The roadblocks comprised two locations in Lundu, and one each in Bau, Serian, Sri Aman and Lubok Antu with a total of 1,684 vehicles inspected.
