KUCHING: Sarawak records no new positive Covid-19 case today (Aug 31), so positive cases in the state remain at 699.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in a statement, said one Covid-19 cluster — the Alam Cluster in Bintulu — was still active, with the cases remaining at eight.
There are no cases of recovery and discharge from hospital, and the total recovered Covid-19 patients remain at 663 or 94.85 percent.
Seventeen individuals are still receiving treatment in hospital isolation wards. Of these cases, 11 are still receiving treatment at Bintulu Hospital, five at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and one at Miri Hospital.
With no deaths reported, the death toll in the state remains at 19 or 2.72 percent of the total cases.
Twelve new person under investigation (PUI) cases have been reported and two are still awaiting laboratory results.
Of the number of persons under surveillance (PUS), SDMC said there are 65 PUS cases who have checked into designated hotels to undergo quarantine, bringing the total number of PUS at 14 hotels to 683.
To date, 23,043 PUS have completed their quarantine period.
