KUCHING: Serian district was declared a green zone today after no new positive Covid-19 cases were reported in the last 14 days.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement said only Kuching and Sibu remain as yellow zones with one positive case reported each in the past 14 days.
Sarawak also recorded no new positive cases for two consecutive days yesterday; the total number of cases remains at 545 to date since the first case was reported on March 13.
It added that six cases have recovered and have been discharged from the hospital, with four cases from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and two from Bintulu Hospital.
This brings the total number of recovery cases to 470 or 86.24 per cent of the total cases.
The committee also said there are 68 more person under investigation (PUI) cases, with 58 still awaiting laboratory results.
To date, 58 cases are still undergoing treatment at the hospitals, with none in the intensive care unit (ICU) and no patients requiring intubation support.
Out of the 545 positive cases, 19 have been ‘re-tested as positive’ cases.
On the number of person under surveillance (PUS), there are 239 new PUS cases as of today, bringing it to a total of 2, 051 PUS placed at 38 hotels throughout the state for quarantine.
Meanwhile, a total of 10,138 PUS have completed the quarantine period and were allowed to return home.
To date, there are 17 deaths due to Covid-19 in the state.
