KUCHING: The President of Sarawak Football Association (FAS), Dato Posa Haji Majais said there was no probation period given to the assistant coach of Sarawak squad, Pengiran Bala who was given mandate to take over the David Usop’s task in steering the Sarawak squad to face the remaining matches of the Super League season.
According to Dato Posa, it is sufficient for FAS to look at the touch of the coach who hails from from Long Seridan, Baram, Miri to ensure Sarawak continue to compete in the 2018 Super League.
In other words, Dato Posa said the magical touch of Pengiran Bala in each match was able to bring positive results.
“No trial was given to him (Pengiran Bala), he will be driving the Sarawak team until the end of the Super League and the Malaysia Cup,” said Dato Posa when met yesterday.
According to Dato Posa, FAS is confident that the 55-year-old’s coach experience will bring positive changes to the Sarawak squad.
“Pengiran once led the Sarawak squad in 2006/2007 and became the head coach of the Youth Cup squad 2016.
“Hopefully, with his experience, I believe he (Pengiran Bala) is capable of creating a tonic that will give positive impact on the Sarawak team,” added Dato Posa.
