KUCHING: The Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development of Sarawak, Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn, has voiced his support for students wearing casual or sports attire in school as long as it is appropriate.

This comes after the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced that they are allowing students to wear casual or sports attire during hot weather.

“It is up to the federal government to decide what is best for the students, and it is a friendly policy,” said Roland during a press conference for the upcoming launching of The Hydrogen and Tech SAFARI 3.0 at MEITD’s office today.

“Just as long as the students dress nice and appropriate, then they would be just fine. It is also a good thing because we are in the hot and dry season, so not a problem for me if they allow the students to dress casual attire.”

The MOE stated in a recent announcement that the policy is aimed at prioritising the welfare, health and safety of students, teachers, and administrators during the hot spell and prolonged drought that is hitting the country.
