KUCHING: Samarahan police chief, DSP Lee Chong Chern rubbished a Facebook account holder who stated that a teacher boxed a student’s ear and his hands were chopped off.
Lee in a press statement denied that such thing ever happened and urged members of the public to stop the fake news which has gone viral.
He said under Section 233 of the Telecommuncation and Media Act 1988, it is an offence to post such untruth on social media.
Lee could not be contacted to confirm if the account holder has been arrested.
