MIRI: The Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) is committed to organising activities regularly through the ‘No week without a programme’ initiative.

Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu said that the support from all parties is crucial for the smooth running of the planned programme.

“We organise many programmes involving youth in sports, but it’s crucial to have full public support,” he said during the opening ceremony of the 2023 Inter-Departmental Futsal Competition at Miri Indoor Stadium today.

Rentap added that sports are for everyone, not limited to specific groups.

“This sport is for all, not just civil servants. It should be encouraged for daily practice to promote an active lifestyle and build social connections among the people of Sarawak.”

“I also recommend including women in the next futsal competition,” he suggested, as the current competition was only for men.

The competition included 32 teams from 27 government departments here.
