MOSCOW: North Korea launched an unspecified ballistic missile toward the Sea of Japan early Wednesday, reported Sputnik, citing Yonhap news agency that quoted South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The military did not provide any details of the launch, pending an analysis, the report said.
The Japanese Ministry of Defence confirmed the missile launch on X (formerly known as Twitter).
“North Korea launched an object that could be a ballistic missile,” the ministry said.
The Japan Coast Guard said in a statement, citing the country’s defence ministry, that the suspected ballistic missile has already landed. – BERNAMA-SPUTNIK
