BINTULU: Nine individuals were each issued RM10,000 compound notices for failing to register via the MySejahtera application or register book and temperature scan upon entering public premises.

The individuals were caught during Ops Bersepadu crime prevention and SOP compliance around Bintulu town, on Saturday (March 13).

Bintulu District Police chief Superintendent Zulkipli Suhaili said the compounds were issued under the Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control (Measures in Infected Areas) Regulations.

He also said that 42 summonses were issued against vehicle owners for various traffic offences.

During the operations involving six officers and 49 members from various enforcement agencies, a total of 7,287 individuals and 6,185 vehicles were inspected.

He said the operations focused on entertainment premises, boarding houses, and other premises around Bintulu Old Market, Jalan Paragon, Medan Jaya, Medan Raya, Bintulu Sentral, Parkcity, Tanjung Kidurong, Sg Plan, ABF Beach and housing estates along Jalan Tun Hussein Onn.

The operations also included three roadblocks at major roads entering Bintulu.

Zulkipli stressed that similar operations would continue to be carried out to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the community.
