KUCHING: Sekolah Jeni s Kebangsaan ( S J K ) C h u n g Hua Sungai Moyan and Kelab Rekreasi Moyan will jointly hold a charity run on November 11 to raise funds for the school’s new 4-storey, 24-classroom block. The organisers hope to attract 1,500 participants, according to Kelab Rekreasi Moyan president Alex Lam.
The run will cover 3km, starting from SJK Chung Hua Sungai Moyan to Genesis Parade, then proceed to Taman Sri Moyan, and then back to SJK Chung Hua Sungai Moyan. Registration which is RM35 (including Badge Medal and Tshirt) will close on October 31 (Tuesday).
Those interested can register at all the 10 Chung Hua primary schools in Batu Kawa. The run will start at 6.30am and a Zumba workout session will be held by Level Up Fitness before the run at 6.00am For more information, contact Kelab Rekreasi Moyan secretary Thian Phin Kong at 019- 8588013.
“This is the first event for the club since its setting up and we hope that we can contribute significantly to the school and the Moyan community,” Alex said.
“ It i s hoped that wi th the direct involvement of LEA Sport Centre as among the few corporations to assist the school in its fund raising efforts, other corporat ions wi l l also come forward and collaborate with the school to ensure success in the construction of the much needed 4-storey, 24-classroom block,” said Alex during a press conference on the ‘Kids and Fami ly Run 2017’ at Wi sma Hopoh, yesterday.
