KUCHING: The Persatuan Anak Seni Sarawak (Anak Seni) will hold a ‘Malam Anak Seni’ programme on Nov 25 at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) Sarawak, starting at 8.15pm.
According to Anak Seni on Thursday (Nov 9), the event will feature the presentation of Basic Acting Certificates and recognition awards for outstanding members, both within and beyond the association.
The highlight of the evening is a riveting theatrical performance of “Diari Seorang Ibu”, a piece crafted by Anak Seni president Jalot Jeman.
“Diari Seorang Ibu” follows the story of a mother grappling with the challenges of single-handedly raising her two children following the untimely demise of her beloved husband.
Unveiling the secrecy of her efforts through a carefully documented diary, the performance promises an emotional rollercoaster.
Starring seasoned local actors, including Jalot, Azanena Kelana, and Awang Rizal, this fresh take on theatre boldly combines on-screen and stage acting perspectives.

Anak Seni is an art association aimed at promoting Sarawak art activities, not only focusing on drama and theatre, but also involving all other aspects of art such as dance, music, singing and screen acting.
