MIRI: A fire broke out early Wednesday morning at a nursery located on Aquarius 4 Lane in Tamab Delight here, causing significant damage to the kitchen and store section of the building.
According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a distress call was received at approximately 6.50 am.
Firefighters from Miri Bomba station were quickly dispatched to the scene to combat the blaze.
“The fire involved the kitchen area of the nursery, which was part of a permanent structure. It completely destroyed the store section, while 80 per cent of the kitchen was consumed by the flames,” said Bomba operation centre.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire using a 200-foot hose connected to a nearby hydrant, ensuring the blaze did not spread further.
Overhaul operations were conducted to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
There were no reports of injuries, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
