KUCHING: Facilities like Think & Tinker (T&T) Mini Lab by Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (Tegas) can nurture creativity and innovation among students, says Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.
“The T&T Mini Lab is a multipurpose space for the purpose of innovation in schools to enable students to hone their talents and skills in the field of digital innovation, especially in their skills to create innovative products and robotics,” added the state Assistant Transport Minister.
“It is also a centre to share knowledge and expertise between students, teachers and industry experts.
“This is in line with the state government’s aspiration to have Sarawakians embrace digital technology,” he said when launching the T&T Mini Lab for SMK Siburan here on Monday (Nov 1).
The Mambong assemblyman thanked the Tegas Community Innovative Learning and state Education Department for selecting SMK Siburan as one of the 11 pilot schools in Sarawak for the initiative.
He expressed hope that the T&T Mini Lab’s objectives to develop human capital could be fulfilled.
“I would like to urge the students to take the opportunity to participate in all activities and programmes.
“At the same time, I would also like to call upon the community leaders to encourage and advise students to get involved in the T&T Mini Lab, which will start operating early next year.”
