KUCHING: Building integrity among the younger generation who will shape the future as leaders is extremely important.

Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya said it is essential to educate young children about the value of integrity to keep them away from negative influences.

“Nation-building is an ongoing effort and instilling the value of integrity is crucial for guiding the next generation with exemplary principles,” Dr Juanda said.

Dr Jaya said this during the Sarawak Youth Integrity Colloquium 2023, held at UCSI Kuching Hotel yesterday (Aug 5).

He also urged the community to support the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in its fight against corruption.

“Integrity is vital for the success of any organization, country, and the formation of a nation,” he added.

The one-day colloquium saw 130 participants from various Public Higher Education Institutions (IPTAs), Private Higher Education Institutions (IPTSs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and secondary school students here actively engaged in the event.
