KUCHING: Students planning to further their studies in China or Singapore should attend the ‘Study Abroad Counselling and Consultation Event’ hosted by Kuching High School on May 27, at 8 am.
The event, at the Smart Board Classroom near the school office, will feature representatives from Tianjin University (TJU), one of China’s top universities, and the International Management and Sports College (IMSC) from Singapore.
The school in a statement said the initiative aims to provide valuable insights into higher education opportunities abroad for students who have recently received their Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) results, as well as current Form 4 and Form 5 students.
The event is designed to broaden students’ international perspectives, enhance their personal values, and increase their exposure to diverse education and career opportunities.
Representatives from TJU and IMSC will present their respective institutions’ strengths, international cooperation projects, and scholarship opportunities.
They will also address queries on admission requirements, tuition fees, living expenses, and other relevant details to help students and parents navigate the application process and prepare for studying in China or Singapore.
“Tianjin University, as one of China’s top universities, is renowned for its outstanding teaching and research capabilities in fields such as engineering, sciences, computer science, business, medicine, management, law, literature, media, among others.
“Tianjin University’s participation not only provides students with an opportunity to understand higher education in China but also demonstrates Kuching High School’s active engagement with renowned international education institutions,” the statement said.
Kuching High School noted that IMSC, based in Singapore, attracts a diverse international student body with its innovative curriculum and global educational philosophy.
“Representatives from the college will focus on introducing its advantages in fields such as management, tourism, sports science, sports management, caregiving, and so on, helping students understand the diverse cultural environment and broad prospects for development by studying in Singapore.
“Additionally, they will highlight the college’s unique cooperation projects with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) to assist students in furthering their education,” it added.
Towards this end, the school anticipated that the event will provide students with a platform to directly communicate with internationally renowned institutions of higher studies, helping them clarify their future academic directions and inspiring them to continuously pursue excellence in their studies.
“It is believed that through this event, students from Kuching High School will be able to comprehensively plan their futures and become outstanding talents with international perspectives and competitiveness.
“Students and parents from other schools are also welcome to participate in this event.”
