Know that the best of your friends
Are they who accept you as you are
Wholly and truly, sans the judging part
You’d have to care enough, to also try
Yes, to do the very same
To those you call, as your friends
With friends, stories are the superglue
Keeping messages, and friendships intact
Allowing powerful stories to develop
To become myths, helping build bridges
So have your powerful stories ready
Being sincerely told, and so to be retold
But beware, like the hermit crab
With its borrowed shell
So can your circumstances, be of a help
But also a hindrance — at the same time
Needless to say, be true to your essence
That is always the better for you
Remember, love is not earned
It is to be freely, and sincerely given
For it cannot be forced, or be taken
That’s why it’s the most precious of things
In the entire universe
Between and amongst, all its denizens
