MIRI: Sand was used by firemen from Miri Fire station on Tuesday night to clear the road after several oil spills were spotted along the Jalan Sukan.
According to Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) zone 6 chief Supt Law Poh Kiong, the incident was reported by a member of the public around 9 pm.
A team of firemen from Miri fire station was deployed to scene.
However, the source of the oil spill is not immediately known.
Upon arrival at the scene, firemen immediately spread sand over the affected area to help counter the slippery surface.
The operation ended at 10.19 pm.
No untoward incident occurred, as firemen swiftly contained the situation.
