KUCHING: The Old Josephians’ Associations (OJA) Kuching will be organising its fifth edition of Ora Et Labora Run themed 140th Anniversary Run on Saturday (December 3).

As the previous run, the starting line will be at the premises of St. Joseph Secondary School, Kuching at 6am.

The Ora Et Labora aims to provide an opportunity time for a reunion for ex-students to gather and render service to their alma mater.

Deputy Premier, Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said that as Sarawak eased into more relaxed rules on the COVID-19 control and prevention measures set by the Ministry of Health starting May 1, they are blessed to be able to celebrate the school’s 140th anniversary.

Dr Sim, who is also the president of OJA, added that the grand finale of the school’s anniversary will be celebrated with a dinner in the school’s Tan Sri Datuk William Tan auditorium which the school’s alumnus Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to grace the dinner.

OJA is also expecting as much as 800 runners comprising current students, alumni, and the public to take part in this year’s event.

The run will be divided into 1.4 km-walk for families and children, five kilometre and 10-kilometre race.

All participants who finish the run will receive medals and for the 10km race, the top 10 finishers will receive additional cash prizes.

The registration fees per person are RM50 for the 1.4km walk and five-kilometre Fun Run, and RM60 for the 10-kilometre race.

Each registered runner is entitled a running T-shirt and a running bib, and entry forms can be obtained at Revolution Run Borneo in Green Heights, Kuching, or online registration can be made through www.malaysiarunner.com.
