KUCHING: La Promenade Mall is collaborating with What About Kuching (WAK) on Oktoberfest 2024, marking the mall’s third annual celebration.

According to a media statement, this year’s event is set to be 50 per cent larger, with an enhanced layout, more seating, and a broader range of food and beverages.

The event from Sept 12 to Oct 6 will see La Promenade’s Oktoberfest featuring live music performances every Thursday to Sunday and, in a new addition, after-parties hosted in collaboration with top drink vendors will keep the festivities going late into the night.

The festival’s most beloved bands are returning to the stage, including Mozaik, On Strings, Time Signature, and many others.

“This will be our third year performing here at La Promenade’s Oktoberfest, and it’s always a highlight for us; the crowds there are just wonderful,” said Dell Lawrence, the lead vocalist of Mozaik.

In addition, Alex Ang, Mozaik’s drummer, said the success of live music hinges on the atmosphere, from the sound system’s quality to the perfect lighting.

“The festival will feature over two dozen food vendors, including the mall’s newest tenant, Iced Bar, which will serve unique cocktails, including specially infused gin and tonics. Subaru and Proton will exhibit cars, and Hock Seng Lee’s (HSL) property team will showcase promotional showcases.

“Attendees will have the chance to preview “Jigsaw,” HSL’s first condominium project, and participate in guided tours of the exclusive 200-acre La Promenade gated residences while also getting a first look at the new phases of the much-anticipated Vista Industrial Park,” the statement said.

Additionally, the HSL’s security manager, Charles Lee, said that success lies in creating family-friendly, secure, and meticulously organised events.

“While ‘fun’ is our theme for Oktoberfest, we also prioritise safety, with increased security and an enhanced cleaning team,” he said.
