BINTULU: OM Materials (Sarawak) has successfully implemented its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project, “Empowering Students to Soar”, at SK Kampung Nyalau here recently.

According to its manager Mohd Ismazi Effendy, OM Materials (Sarawak) emphasised its dedication to enhancing education, supporting community growth, and upholding environmental responsibility.

“This programme transcends a mere welfare initiative; it is a substantial move in encouraging Kampung Nyalau’s educational development,” he said in a statement.

A key aspect of this programme is the promotion of recycling practices including an interactive session for students.

“Schools are the perfect venues to instill and nurture recycling habits, leading to an environmentally-aware future generation.

“This hands-on approach is vital, not just for promoting recycling habits, but also for instilling a deep sense of environmental responsibility in the students,” he added.

Effendy highlighted the company’s environmental efforts, including the donation of two sets of recycling bins to the school.

Central to the project is donation to SK Kampung Nyalau, comprising new furniture for teachers and pre-schoolers, 13 computers, standing fans, stationeries, and umbrellas for students to foster a positive learning environment and provide essential resources for both educators and students.
