SADONG JAYA: A comprehensive master plan for the development of Sadong Jaya, Asajaya, Sebuyau, Lingga, Sri Aman, and surrounding areas was unveiled by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
The plan prioritises infrastructure improvements, modern agriculture, and residential expansion.
Abang Johari said a four-lane dual carriageway project from Kampung Tambirat to Gedong would be a key component of the plan to enhance connectivity and spur economic growth.
“This new infrastructure will allow communities to better utilise their land, with new routes connecting areas like Kampung Beliong through Sejingkat to Petra Jaya, reducing travel time to around 20 minutes,” he said during the official opening of Masjid Darul Iman today (Nov 1).
The Premier reiterated the state government’s commitment to unity and prosperity, expressing confidence in Sarawak’s strong economic position.
He hinted at further details on revenue and future projects in the upcoming state budget.
“We are fortunate that our state’s resources are growing. I will provide more specifics in the upcoming budget presentation,” he added.
Sadong Jaya assemblyman Datuk Aidel Lariwoo expressed gratitude for the new master plan, which he believes will open up the area with improved road connectivity and other developments.
The Sarawak Coastal Road Project, which includes upgrading existing roads and constructing new ones, is also underway.
Twelve out of 13 packages are currently under construction, with two expected to be completed by the end of this year.
The remaining packages are scheduled for completion between 2025 and 2026.
