The Adolescent Health Survey 2022 revealed that one in ten teenagers consumes fast food at least three times a week, according to the National Health and Morbidity Survey 2022.
The allure of convenience and delicious flavours often entices adolescents towards these quick dining options.
Unfortunately, indulging in fast food poses severe health risks and escalates the likelihood of obesity due to its high calorie, sugar, salt, and preservative content, which is often accompanied by low nutritional value.
In light of these findings, the Ministry of Health strongly advises teenagers to restrict their daily intake of fast food, prioritising their long-term well-being and minimising the risk of chronic diseases. By adopting healthier eating habits, they can safeguard their future health and lead a fulfilling life.
