KUCHING: The “Kamek Sayang” programme by Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Sarawak is one of the few initiatives by the media organisation in carrying out its corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Its state communication director, Nasrul Hakim Mohamad Noh said that it is a good platform in approaching and comforting people from all walks of life, specifically those who are less fortunate.
“The programme that is done on the field basis is to enable RTM to get the information on grass root level to be centralised especially on the issue of people’s lives in order for it to be passed to the related agencies as soon as possible,” he said.
He also added that such information will surely open a lot of ways for assistance to come to those who needed it the most.
The programme brings together as much as 50 orphanages from Asnaf group alongside a few other schools in Kuching, HIKMAH and Toh Puan Norkiah Children Protection Centre.
“Our hope is that we could provide these kids a bit of happiness and most importantly this programme will open more doors for more assistance to be provided that for sure will give benefit to those who need them as well,” he added.
He added during his speech on the official opening of the programme at Merdeka Palace hotel yesterday.
Nasrul then also said that RTM Sarawak through its radio station SARAWAKfm will continue to be committed in continuing its function and role as an effective connector in order to ensure the foundation and the mission of the government continues to be spread with honesty, accurate and fast.
Also present during the ceremony were the general manager of the hotel, Andrew Fernandez and other guests.
