LIMBANG: A minute of silence was observed during the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Flag Rally held at the Limbang Civic Centre, in respect of the late Pehin Sri Adenan Satem who passed away on Jan 11, 2017 at the age of 72.
Adenan, fondly known as “Tok Nan” was the fifth chief minister of Sarawak. He was appointed on Feb 28, 2014, replacing Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.
When Adenan took over office, he has spoken openly on the autonomy of Sarawak and fulfilled many of his promises to Sarawakians.
Sarawak BN’s victory during the 2016 State Election was because of the leadership of Tok Nan, whereby 72 out of 82 state seats were won.
It was Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) secretary-general Datuk Sebastian Ting who called all the GPS members and community to observe a minute of prayer for Tok Nan yesterday.
