KUCHING: The State Health Department today (June 26) declared one new cluster in the Betong district.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said that the new Nyelutong cluster involved two longhouses at Nyelutong, Betong.
Of the 154 people who were screened, 39 including the index case tested positive, 104 were negative while 11 were awaiting the results of screening.
The SDMC said all positive cases were admitted to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and the Sibu Hospital as well as the Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres (PKRC) in Kuching, Sibu and Betong for isolation and further treatment.
The committee today also declared the end of one cluster, namely the Melugu cluster in the Sri Aman district as no new cases involving this cluster were reported in the last 28 days.
The SDMC said of the 94 active clusters in the state, 14 recorded 94 new cases today.
