One new locality placed under EMCO

KUCHING: One new locality in the state — the staff quarters of Yuk Juan Transportation Sdn Bhd in the Bintulu district — was placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Aug 13 until Aug 26.

This was announced by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) on Saturday (Aug 14).

The committee also announced the extension of the EMCO at Mega Jutamas Sdn Bhd Oil Palm Estate, Lot 6, Block 32, Sungai Kabulu, Ulu Suai, Niah in Subis from Sunday (Aug 15) until Aug 21.

It also announced the end of the EMCO on Saturday (Aug 14) at  five localities, namely, Rumah Peter Gimang, Kampung Rapak Penyau, Pantu in the Sri Aman district; Shop lot 21,22 & 22, Kemena Industrial Estate, Jalan Bintulu-Tatau in the Bintulu district; Leader Garage rented house in the Bintulu district; rented rooms (above empty shop next to Velton Inn) in the Bintulu district and the staff quarters, Pelitanah Estate 1 & 2 in the Dalat district.

The SDMC also said of the 99 active clusters in the state, 10 clusters reported165 new cases on Saturday (Aug 14).

The Kampung Bunuk cluster reported 136 new cases, the Sega cluster 10 new cases, the Jalan Kemena Industry Estate 38 cluster added seven new cases, the Bungey 2 cluster four new cases while the Kampung Pulo Ulo cluster three new cases.

Meanwhile, the clusters of Kampung Paya Mebi, Melikin, Braang Payang, Sungai Menok, and Taman Indah Landeh each recorded one new case. 

Sarawak now has 20 red districts, four orange districts, 10 yellow districts and six green districts.
