KUCHING: A suspect was arrested after he and three accomplices robbed a couple at the old DUN building around 9.30pm last Monday.
The suspect in his late 20s was arrested in his house at Kampung Gita near here at 10am yesterday.
A 17-year-old food catering assistant said he was taking his girlfriend home on a motorcycle and when they were passing the old DUN building four men jumped out from the bush and confronted them.
One of the four was putting on a mask while the other three were not. However, they were all armed with machetes and knives.
The four then robbed the boy and his girlfriend of their personal documents, hand phones, RM45 and a motorcycle belonging to the boy’s aunt worth RM3,000.
Following a police report, the police went to a house at Kpg Gita to arrest one of the four suspects.
The other three suspects are being tracked down.
