PADAWAN: Police here arrested a woman believed to be an online gambling agent in an eatery last Sunday (Sept 26).
The arrest made by a Padawan police task force led by Batu Kawa police station chief Insp Syahrulhafizy Ghazali happened around 3.40pm at Mile 7, Jalan Penrissen.
Padawan police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan, who confirmed the case, said the 24-year-old suspect was sitting in the back of the shop.
“The team detained her for checking and questioning as she was believed to be involved in online gambling. They soon found written numbers believed to be user words and passwords,” he said.
In addition, a phone and cash amounting to RM205, were also seized from her.
The suspect and the seized items were taken to the police station.
The case is being investigated under Section 4(1)(c) of the Common Gaming House 1953.
