KUCHING: An illegal online gambling top up agent was arrested during Ops Dadu conducted in Siniawan Sentral on Wednesday (Jan 27).
Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the 26-year-old local male was arrested by the crime busters at 7.53pm.
“As a result of the operation, police arrested a local man who is suspected of being involved in online gambling activities.
“The police also confiscated a mobile phone together with an undisclosed amount of cash,” he said.
The suspect was arrested under Section 4(1)(c) of the Common Gaming House Act 1953 which carries a fine of RM5,000 and up to three years’ imprisonment upon conviction.
