Among the items recovered by police from the illegal online gambling activity in Marudi, Miri yesterday.

MIRI: A 58-year-old local man suspected to be involved in illegal online gambling was arrested by the Marudi police officers at a coffee shop in Marudi here around 9.20am yesterday.

“Various equipments believed to be used for the illegal activity are seized such as three tablets with sim cards, RM1,400 cash and a pen.

“The man is currently being detained under Section 4B (a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953,” said Marudi Police chief DSP Gabriel Risut.

The same team had also nabbed a man for committing the same offence last Friday.

The police forfeited several items namely a mobile phone, two pieces of paper with numbers written on it (believed to be four digit numbers), RM129 cash and a pen.
