KUCHING: Sarawak Bumiputera Teachers Union (KGBS) has called on all teachers in Sarawak to show their support and to participate in the 49th State Level Teachers’ Day celebration.
The online celebration, to be held from June 30 until July 3, will be take place tomorrow (Jun 29) at 8.30am.
KGBS president Ahmad Malie also called on all schools in Sarawak with internet capabilities to arrange a session with all teachers to witness the opening ceremony.
“KGBS hopes that all teachers would be able to participate in the ceremony as it is going to be held online due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We also hope that all teachers would support all the activities organised and hosted by the Kuching District Education Office (PPD Kuching) in collaboration with PPD Padawan, PPD Bau, and PPD Lundu throughout the celebration,” he said in a statement on Sunday.
Ahmad also conveyed KGBS’s Teachers’ Day wishes, saying ‘Happy Teachers’ Day and ‘Berguru Demi Ilmu, Bina Negara Bangsa’. Thanks to all teachers for all your sacrifices made to further develop the education sector in Sarawak.”
