KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing alleged that Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) has been going against the rules of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
However, he agreed that PSB which is not a member of the coalition, need not abide by its rulings.
The Deputy Chief Minister went on to say that under normal political scenario, only parties in the coalition were entitled to be part of the government administration.
“This will ensure that they abide by the rules of the coalition. PSB is not in the coalition, therefore, they need not abide by its rulings.
“That is what PSB has been doing over the past few months; they went against GPS rules & regulations,” said Masing.
Masing however said the appointment of members of the Cabinet was the prerogative of the Chief Minister.
He added that the Chief Minister has the sole discretion to appoint whom he thinks fit into his administration.
Assistant Minister for Transportation, Datuk Dr Jerip Susil who was PSB deputy president, left the party on Wednesday, but has yet to announce his future political plan.
Dr Jerip, the Mambong assemblyman was once SUPP Central Executive Council member, has been invited by the party’s president Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian to rejoin the party.
