LIMBANG: The task of educators in shaping the future is crucial, said Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail.
The Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) quoted the Deputy Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development as saying this is to meet the state’s needs in the years to come.
“Not only is Singapore investing in Sarawak but Korea, Japan and Australia are also coming to invest in the latest sectors including the hydrogen industry,” he said.
He said it is thus imperative that Sarawak has a pool of skilled workers to meet the needs of industry.
Abdul Rahman said this at the 2021 Excellent Service Award Ceremony of the Limbang Education Office held at Kampung Bunga Raya Hall, here recently.
He congratulated Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Kubong for being among the 12 best schools in Sarawak in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.
Meanwhile, Abdul Rahman who is also the Bukit Kota assemblyman added that the Sarawak government will continue its efforts in developing school infrastructure.
He added that the state government has for this purpose allocated RM150 million for the Limbang and Lawas districts apart from the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects.
“There are also many projects in Limbang such as upgrading, repairing and building new ones that are part of the infrastructure.
“One of them includes the establishment of the Form 6 Centre which is currently under construction and the building of a dormitory,” he added.
A total of 90 educators from the Limbang Education Office from both secondary and primary schools as well as support service staff received towards for rendering excellent service.
