Open burning widespread in last 24 hours

KUCHING: At least 36 cases of open burning were reported throughout the state in the last 24 hours as at 6pm yesterday. According to the Fire and Rescue Services (Bomba) operations centre here, the highest number of cases was reported by its Sg Merah fire station.

The areas involved are in Jalan Sg Bidut, Kampung Seguan Jaya, Kampung Teku, Taman Permai Jaya, Dewan Masyarakat Kpg Bahagia Jaya and Simpang Kemuyang.

Others are

• Kampung Tapang Lebut, Balai Ringin and Pasar Tebedu(BBP Serian);

• Kampung Sekait, Lingga (BBP Sri Aman);

• Kampung Laruh Skim, Kampung Rampangi Fasa II, Lrg 25, Taman Hj Ludin, Kg Semariang Batu and Petronas Jln Sultan Tengah (BBP Petra Jaya);

• Bulatan SMK Teknik Sejingkat, Demak Laut and Simpang Kg Selabat (BBP Tabuan Jaya);

• Taman Li Hwa and Jalan Sg Kut Tengah (BBP Mukah); Jalan Kuala Segan (BBP Bintulu);

• Kampung Jeruit, Lorong Bahagia Jaya 6 Tengah and opposite SMK St Elizabeth (BBP Sibu);
