KUCHING: The proposed meeting between Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak and Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) for a united opposition front during the 15th general election is a good sign of opposition collaboration in the state.

Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) president Bobby William said that instead of fighting each other, it is time for the opposition to think of a collaboration or a merger to face the 15th general election (GE 15).

“After all we (opposition parties) are fighting a common political enemy,” he told New Sarawak Tribune when contacted on Monday (Apr 25).

He added that the possible partnership between the various opposition parties must also be done sincerely and with respect.

Bobby was prompted for comments on the news reports saying that DAP Sarawak and PSB would start their first round of negotiation today (Apr 26) for a united front in preparation for the upcoming GE15.

When asked if PBDSB was looking forward to meeting DAP Sarawak and discussing the united opposition front, he said, “Yes, we are”.

“We are open to any discussion with like-minded political parties. Not only DAP.

“And it can be any political party which respects PBDSB’s struggles and agendas,” said Bobby.
