BINTULU: Over 3,000 recipients of the Sarawak Social Welfare Department (JKM) monthly assistance will receive Raya Gawai donation of RM100 and hampers in conjunction with the celebrations of Hari Raya and Gawai Dayak.
Bintulu Social Welfare Department (PKMB Bintulu) acting welfare officer Athabarani Othman said 533 recipients will donations for Hari Raya and 2,468 others will receive the Gawai aid.
The donation is an annual programme during the festive season to lighten the financial burden of the recipients, to improve the wellbeing of the needy and emphasise empathy among staff of the department.
A symbolic handover ceremony was officiated by confidential secretary to Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Integrity and Ombudsman) Othman Mat to five of the recipients at PKMB Bintulu today.
