ONE-STOP ENTREPRENEUR HOTLINE
KUCHING: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (Medac) has implemented various measures including establishing a One Stop Entrepreneur Hotline to assist entrepreneurs in the country who were severely affected by the movement control order (MCO).
Its minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said the entrepreneur hotline, set up with the cooperation of agencies under Medac, operates from 8am to 6pm daily.
He said a total 382,255 calls were received from the start of the Covid-19 pandemic to July 20, the bulk of which went to Bank Rakyat (348,955), and most of the rest, to SME Corp (9,061), Medac (8,023), Tekun (7,994) and SME Bank (4,069).
“The number of calls increased sharply to 259,856 inquiries from April 15 to July 20.
“It is a response from entrepreneurs through the 90 call lines provided by agencies under Medac such as Bank Rakyat, Malaysia Cooperatives Commission (SKM), SME Corporation Malaysia, Institut Koperasi Malaysia, SME Bank and Tekun Nasional,” he said in a statement.
He said the surge in the number of calls reflected the positive response of entrepreneurs to the programme that was initiated by Medac to help local entrepreneurs revitalise their business and improve the economy.
He said the ministry would continue to provide entrepreneurial advisory services to answer questions, provide information, assistance and support to entrepreneurs. The One Stop Entrepreneur Hotline can be contacted at 1-300-88-1020, 03-88923430 or 03-88923429.
