KUCHING: More than 4,000 members and supporters turned up at Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Headquarters here last Tuesday night for the party’s 14th General Election Central Members’ Mobilization Night.
According to Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Tan Kai, the event was meant to stir up the fighting spirit of candidates contesting in the election.
He added that SUPP would mobilise all its members and supporters to the headquarters
before nomination day.
Tan Kai also disclosed that the crowd came from all over Sarawak with the attendance of
the election candidates to give them moral support and courage to ‘fight’ the
battle.
Also present at the event were SUPP President Datuk Dr
Sim Kui Hian who will contest in Stampin, Kevin Kong (Lanang) and Kho Teck
Wan (Bandar Kuching), Dato Andrew Wong (Sibu), Datuk Sebastian Ting (Miri), Dato Sri Richard Riot (Serian) and Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii (Sarikei).
In his speech, Dr Sim called on the members to support SUPP who is fighting for a
stronger and better Sarawak. He added that they are all in this together for
the betterment of the people.
“Only Sarawak-based party will be concerned for
Sarawak,” he said.
Organising Chairman for the Mobilization Night, Matthew Chen also called on SUPP members to be mobilised on the ground and do their best for the people.
