KUCHING: MMS Education Fair 2019 has attracted participation of more than 50 institutions locally and internationally, namely from Australia, Singapore, UK, New Zealand, US and Switzerland.

The Education Fair is starting from March 6 in Sandakan, Tawau yesterday, Kuching todayday and Kota Kinabalu (tomorrow) whereas   Labuan will be on March 11;   Bintulu on March15;  Sibu on March 16 and lastly in Miri on March 17.

Members of the public, especially students and parents are encouraged to visit the Education Fairs and to meet the representatives of universities and colleges face-to-face to further discuss their study plans.

MMS reminded students to bring along their result slips or transcripts to seek offers and scholarship information.

“Most universities and colleges have intakes range from March to October. This is a definitely a good opportunity for students to obtain latest information and submit application during the event,” said MMS Education Placement Centre senior operation manager May Tan.

“Besides, students who are currently studying are encouraged to attend the education fair as well in order to plan for their further studies in 2020. Some participating institutions will waive the application fee if students apply for admissions on the spot.

“Courses available at the education fair vary from Business and Arts to Sciences. Students will be able to obtain latest information at different education levels, from A Level, Foundation, Diploma, Undergraduate Degree to Postgraduate Degree,” she added.

Tan said another attraction of the event would be the scholarships and financial aids offered by various participating institutions.

“Studying overseas is often perceived as very costly for parents. However, with the attractive scholarships, bursaries and incentives provided by the institutions, it eases parents’ burden in financing their children’s further education,” she added.

Established in 1981, MMS Education Placement Group which has branch offices in all major towns of Sabah and Sarawak, is the pioneer of education placement services in East Malaysia.

It has more than 30 years of experience in servicing thousands of students and parents yearly for further education.

The Education Placement Group organises MMS Education Fair throughout Sabah and Sarawak three times a year namely in March, July and October to provide the opportunities for students and parents to find out more details on study options and pathways to match interests, career plans, budget and results of individuals.

The participating institutions of the Education Fair in Australia are Australian Institute of Music (AIM), Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School, Box Hill Institute, Canning College, Central Queensland University (CQU), Curtin University, Edith Cowan University (ECU), Flinders University, Griffith University, JMC Academy, Kaplan Australia (MIT/UOAC), Monash University, RMIT University, Swinburne University of Technology, TAFE International Western Australia (TIWA), The University of Notre Dame Australia, The University of Western Australia (UWA), University of Melbourne, University of New South Wales (UNSW), University of Tasmania  (UTAS), William Angliss Institute.

In China, the participating institution is University of Nottingham Ningbo, China.

For Malaysia, there are various institutions involved namely Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU); Curtin University Malaysia; Epsom College in Malaysia (ECiM); HELP University; INTI International University & Colleges; KDU University College; Le Cordon Bleu Malaysia; Monash University Malaysia (MUM); Riam Institute of Technology; Swinburne University Sarawak Campus;Taylor’s University and The University of Nottingham Malaysia.

Ara Institute of Canterbury, Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) are institutions taking part in theis programme in New Zealand.

In Singpore, the institutions involved are Raffles College of Higher Education; James Cook University Singapore (JCU); Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) as well as Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS).

For Switzerland the concerned institutions are Business and Hotel Management School (BHMS), Sommet Education – Glion Institute of Higher Education & Les Roches Global Hospitality Education.

There are also participating institutions from the United Kingdom which includes CATS Colleges, Kaplan International Pathways, Kings Education, Northumbria University Newcastle, MPW Schools & Colleges, St. Andrew’s College Cambridge, University of Leeds, University of Northampton, University of the West of England (UWE Bristol).

From the United States the institutions taking part are EC Higher Education – DePaul University & University of Hartford.

Meanwhile, the International Education Group and companies include Heriot – Watt Univerisiti UK, Dubai and Malaysia,
