KABONG: The Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration has become one of the platforms for the various communities in the state to enhance ties and for Muslims to share the joy of the celebration.
This was pointed out by Kabong Assemblyman, Mohd Chee Kadir when officiating at a Hari Raya gathering which was attended by more than 500 people.
The gathering also coincided with the official opening of the Kabong Service Centre.
“Only in Sarawak can we find people of other religions joining their Muslim friends to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” he added.
Mohd Chee was accompanied by his wife Maryani Mohd Yassin and Kabong District Officer, Kamaluddin Haji Alkap.
During the function, Mohd Chee also presented prizes to winners of a lighting contest and decorative arch competition.
