KUALA LUMPUR: Over 6,000 participants thronged the 14th edition of the ‘Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak’ 2022 programme on Saturday (Oct 15) at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) here.

The one-day event serves as an avenue for Sarawakians from various backgrounds especially students who are studying in Peninsular Malaysia to gather and at the same have the opportunity to get an insight of the development carried out by the Sarawak state government.

‘Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak’ is an annual programme being organised by the Sarawak Volunteers Association (Sarawak Volunteers) with the full support of the Sarawak government.

Most of the Sarawak students from the public and private universities attending were first-timers to the event.

The four main components of the Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2022 are the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 Exhibition, Sarawak Dialogue, Town Hall Session, and a dinner to conclude the event.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg was speaking at the town hall session with the students from all over Sarawak.

In addition, students also got the opportunity to meet and have a light session with Sarawak state leaders, MPs, and elected representatives.

Among the panelists during the dialogue were Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA) Investment Promotion director Lester Matthew; Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) chairman Lukanisman Awang Sauni; Sarawak Business Federation and Associated Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sarawak (ACCCIS) secretary-general Datuk Jonathan Chai; and Sarawak Dayak Graduates Association (SGDA) president and Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) senior vice president Sr Gary Ningkan.

During the dinner, Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, Abang Johari and other Sarawak state leaders were among those present.

Guests were also entertained by the Sarawak international performer, At Adau.
