MIRI: Following a distress call made to Miri Fire Station early yesterday morning a team of firemen was then dispatched to the scene. A man has got his right leg stuck in between drain grilles at Jalan Raja here.
The 31-year-old man surnamed Yong was in agony when firemen were called to the location. It took the firemen less than 15 minutes to free the man’s leg. Apparently, the man had not noticed a gap in the iron grille.
He suffered minor bruises on his leg. According to some bystanders prior to the firemen’s arrival, they had tried to free the man’s leg by pouring cooking oil on it and also used an iron cutter from a nearby workshop, but to no avail.
