“Even 50 years after his passing, he remains an everlasting icon, respec-ted for his huge talent and his movies. Deemed as a cultural icon, P. Ramlee is a talented entertainer who captivated the audience with his acting, directing, singing and songwriting prowess.

“His unparalleled comedy and ability to connect with people left an indelible impression on both Malaysian and Singaporean cinema and music. ‘P.Ramlee — Jeritan Batinku’ will reveal the man behind the legend,” he said in a statement.

The biopic is written by actor-director Adlin Aman Ramlie, whose mother Ruminah Sidek and late father AR Tompel had worked with the icon in the past. It will also trace P. Ramlee from his humble beginnings to his rise to stardom.
