KUCHING: Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd have entered into a long-term agreement with Orkim Sdn Bhd to charter two shipping vessels for the distribution of petroleum products.

According to a statement by Shell, the two vessels will play a crucial role in transporting oil products for Shell Malaysia’s Downstream fuels business across Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.

Equipped with enhanced features for safety, efficiency, and environmental protection, it said that they addressed the growing requirements and compliance needs.

Commenting on the agreement signed, Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd Managing Director Shairan Huzani Husain said that the collaboration marked a major milestone in their commitment to support Malaysian stakeholders, through a long-term strategy aimed at enhancing and building capabilities within the local energy sector.

“We are excited to work with Orkim Sdn Bhd and believe this collaboration will encourage greater involvement from local industry players and foster new initiatives to further develop local capabilities,” he said.

For the record, the agreement was signed between Shairan and Orkim Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Capt Cheah Sin Bi.
