KUCHING: Sarawak incubator innovation centre, iCube Innovation (ICUBE), has inked an Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Global Entrepreneur Xchange (GEX) to facilitate the creation and growth of Sarawak’s entrepreneurs through collaboration and co-incubation.

The partnership aims to transform and empower entrepreneurs in Sarawak through a series of programmes entitled R.A.I.S.E. (Raising Aspiring Innovative Sarawak Entrepreneurs).

Through the collaboration that brings world-class business leaders and game-changers into Sarawak, both parties are committed to enhancing local entrepreneurs’ learning experience and help take their businesses to the next level.

GEX is an entrepreneurship platform led by its chairman, Karthik Siva, a highly acclaimed international strategy consultant, branding expert and leadership mentor to chief executive officers.

“We are delighted to collaborate with ICUBE to enable and empower Sarawakian entrepreneurs to create major impact and wealth not only in Sarawak or Malaysia but in the Asean region.

“We believe that Sarawakians have a natural entrepreneurial spirit and DNA. With the right exposure and expertise, what they can achieve is limitless,” said Karthik.

Meanwhile, ICUBE Innovation founder, Datuk Patrick Liew, said that he was very convinced that Sarawak could punch above its weight and create successful entrepreneurs with the right coaching, mentorship, tools and exposure to iconic global experts.

The first of many R.A.I.S.E. events by GEX and ICUBE will be the R.A.I.S.E. Bootcamp: 6 Predictors of Startup Success. During this free coaching session, participants will gain critical insight into the predictors of success for any start-up and impactful ways to create and scale their business.

In addition, the programme will offer global best practices, expertise, mentorship with the latest digital products to enhance and inspire more business leaders, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), start-ups, aspiring entrepreneurs and students in Sarawak.

Some of the exciting line-ups that Sarawakians can look forward to from the programme include monthly free workshops to help entrepreneurs identify the major blindspots of their start-ups to minimise their odds of failing; R.A.I.S.E. Summit with Uri Levine, co-founder of Waze, where he will share how entrepreneurs can create and scale to become a global brand; and a series of powerful masterclasses that will provide practical, actionable knowledge, particularly the 10 pillars in an innovation ecosystem framework crucial for a business’s sustainability.
