KUCHING: The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) has introduced the Fast Lane Initiative, a concept designed to attract more industrial and commercial developments to the Padawan jurisdiction.
In a statement released on Thursday (Feb 29), the initiative is described as a strategic move, signifying Padawan’s commitment to becoming a prime destination for high-value development projects and a key player in the driving of the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
“The Fast Lane Initiative is a game-changer for the Padawan municipality, offering an investor-friendly approach that will enhance economic growth and unlock the full potential of the Padawan area.
“By streamlining the building plan approval process, MPP aims to significantly reduce the time required for approval, counting from the day of plan registration.
“This accelerated timeline will expedite the implementation of development projects and provide a competitive advantage for businesses choosing to invest in the Padawan municipality.”
To ensure a smooth execution of this new policy, MPP stated that they would engage with relevant stakeholders, including the Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Sheda).
MPP also mentioned in the statement that through collaborative engagement sessions, they and other stakeholders will work together to address obstacles and concerns, gather valuable input, and foster a supportive environment for the implementation of the Fast Lane Initiative.
“MPP is excited about the potential of this initiative to attract new investments, create employment opportunities, and spur economic growth in the Padawan municipality.
“The council remains committed to providing a conducive business environment and welcomes strategic businesses and investors interested in exploring the vast opportunities in the Padawan municipal area.”
