KUCHING: The completion of two Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects at a locality here marks a significant milestone in ongoing efforts to enhance community facilities and infrastructure in the area.
The RM150,000 projects, aimed at upgrading recreational parks at Lorong 7, Semaba Park, and Lorong Jalan Semaba 2B2, were successfully executed by Padawan Municipal Council.
Kota Sentosa Assemblyman Wilfred Yap and local officials witnessed the official handover ceremony of the completed projects.
“Thank you to the officers from the Landscape Department of Padawan Municipal Council for doing an excellent job in monitoring and supervising the upgrading works to ensure their completion on schedule and with quality finishing,” he said during on Friday (March 8). .
“I hope the completed upgrading works on the two recreation parks will provide a more conducive venue for the residents to congregate and organise social activities and events.
“Additionally, I aim to encourage active recreation opportunities for all ages and contribute towards improving the quality of life for the local communities, as well as improving property values for the area.”
Yap urged residents to take ownership of the parks, emphasising the need for collective responsibility in their upkeep, aligned with municipal regulations.
On the same note, he reiterated his commitment to securing further state funding for improving systematically and upgrading progressively all the neglected infrastructure to uplift the living standard and improve the quality of life of all the communities living in the state constituency.
Towards this end, Yap expressed hope that Stampin MP, Chong Chieng Jen, who is also the former three-term Kota Sentosa assemblyman, would do likewise by applying for more development funding from the federal government.
